We're always so excited when West Coast Craft comes around. It's a chance to meet the makers, check out new designs and see finishes and colors in person. What's so unique about WCC is that each designer and artist exhibits work specifically inspired by the mood and aesthetics of the West Coast lifestyle. Pretty cool, huh? If you haven't had a chance to visit, we highly recommend you venture to this biannual marketplace. You may come home with a wall hanging, painting, ceramic mug, hand dyed fabric or light fixture, to name a few. Here are some of our favorite brands and goods we snagged from the last West Coast Craft!
OneFortyThree has a seriously amazing selection of lighting from table lamps and sconces to pendants and swing lights. The company was started by a couple who began creating light fixtures and furniture for their own personal unfinished log cabin and through trial and error, the rest is history.
I purchased the Wall Sconce: Wood Socket in White, Walnut and Brass for my office. We love this light for it's modern simplicity and easy going price point.
This Los Angeles based furniture company is comprised of duo Joshua and Lindsey (fine artists, woodworkers & sculptors.) They've created beautiful handmade furniture out of solid wood with an great attention to detail and geometry. Their pieces are modern yet timeless and definitely sturdy enough to last a lifetime.
An awesome alternative to an upholstered lounge chair is the Samos Chair in Walnut. Lean back and relax!
As a cat mama and animal lover, I always like to make sure that our pets have stylish and comfortable furniture too. Kristen Cella (owner) found it was easy to furnish her apartment with simple, quality pieces for herself yet tricky to find the same for her cat roommates. If you're not feeling the ordinary pet beds and accessories out there, Siamese Social Club is a great brand to check out. We love her products for their quality, craftswomanship, minimalism and sustainability.
We are especially loving the Coiled Rope Beds for our furry friends.
For those in love with dressing up their kitchen and entertaining, Fire Road creates an amazing serving tray out of Carrara marble and walnut. Fire Road's pieces, from marble coasters to aluminum candle holders, are functional, refined, minimal and modern. This San Francisco based company was founded upon the idea of mixing unique material combinations to create permanent, sustainable and iconic home accessories.
It’s a must for me to bring greens into my home and my clients’ projects. Plants and flowers bring such life to a space! I do my best to find the right plants that fit each unique space based on the environment - which is always dependent on space and light quality. If you're needing help finding the right plants - Leon + George brings their plant expertise to both designers and homeowners.
They deliver plants (potted and ready to go) along with care and maintenance instructions all to your door! What's more? They partner with the U.S. National Forests and ensure a tree is planted for each plant purchased. I am a big fan of the popular Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree but the Rubber Plant is also a beautiful floor plant for your home.
The next West Coast Craft will take place on November 18 & 19, 2017, in the Festival Pavilion of Fort Mason in San Francisco. Admission is free!
